The poll was conducted in January, 2003. It consisted of four specific surveys of public satisfaction of downtown transportation service, long-distance passenger transportation service, air transportation service and railway transportation service. The data suggested that the transportation service in Guangzhou was favorable in general. Long-distance passenger transportation service, according to more than 70% of the passenger respondents, was favorable, and 66% of them had positive comment on its management and supervision. The satisfaction of the complaint handling and the daily conditioins on board of railway transportation, less than 50% said that they were satisfied. There were 79% showing approval of air service in general with difference in degrees. However, more than 62% had ever been troubled by flight delay. The unsatisfaction of punctual flight is relatively high, 16% is not satisfied. Public downtown transportation service was positively commented by nearly 60% and subway service won supporters of more than 86%. Finally, over 80% of the respondents criticized the waste gas let out by public transportation.
